The official exchange rate your auditors expect, loaded into Dynamics 365.
Free rate APIs give you a number. We give you the one your books need: the rate the currency's own central bank or tax authority publishes (Banxico, BCB, BCRA, SUNAT, Colombia's TRM and more, across ten Latin American countries, plus the ECB), against USD or EUR exactly as published, on the date local rules say, shaped for Finance & Operations.
No key yet? Call the API right away without one: up to 250 requests a day.
A free API gives you a rate. Your auditors need the right one.
Converting a price on a website can use any rate. Statutory accounting and tax filings can't: they need one official publication, on one specific date. Every bank publishes differently (web services, CSV files, quirky dates, weekend rules), and we turn all of it into one clean format.
Central bank first
Every rate comes from the currency's own central bank or tax authority, and every value names its source. Where no official rate exists, any other source will be clearly labeled as secondary, never mixed in as official.
Exact to the digit
Rates are stored as published (17.7100, not 17.71000000001) and returned as text, so nothing is lost to rounding.
Dated correctly
Mexico's FIX on its DOF publication day, Peru on SUNAT's date, Colombia's TRM for every calendar day. Weekends and holidays handled.
F&O-ready output
An endpoint shaped like the Exchange rates data entity, as JSON for OData or CSV for Data management. No reshaping.
Power Automate friendly
Simple HTTPS + API key. Loop over the result and create records in F&O. A ready-made custom connector is on the way.
Never a cross rate
Only USD or EUR as the base, exactly as the source publishes it. We never compute a rate like MXN→ARS from two others, so every number traces back to one official publication.
Ten countries and the euro, straight from the source
The largest economies in Latin America plus the ECB's euro reference rates, each from its official publisher and quoted against USD or EUR as published. Updated hourly.
From central bank to F&O in three steps
One key per environment or client.
Pick dates, currencies and your F&O rate type.
Power Automate creates ExchangeRates records, or download the CSV for Data management.
# Today's rates, shaped for F&O curl -H "X-API-Key: $KEY" \ "https://api.egenio.net/v1/fo/exchange-rates?rate_type=Default" { "value": [{ "RateTypeName": "Default", "FromCurrency": "USD", "ToCurrency": "MXN", "StartDate": "2026-09-28T00:00:00Z", "Rate": "17.7100", "ConversionFactor": "One" }, …] }
Free while in testing
egenio FX is currently a test service. Access is free of charge for evaluation, with fair-use limits per key. Paid plans may be introduced later; nothing will be charged without prior notice and your explicit agreement.
Test access
- All countries and the euro
- Latest rates, history and F&O format
- Fair-use request limits per key
- Up to 250 requests a day with no key at all
- For testing and evaluation only
Meant for evaluation
Use it to try the API in a sandbox or test environment and tell us what you need. Don't rely on it for production accounting, tax filings or financial decisions.
Always verify
Check every rate against the official publication (Banxico, BCB, BCRA, Banco Central de Chile, SUNAT, the TRM, BCP, BCU, BCCR, Banco Central de Bolivia or the ECB) before using it.
Questions finance and IT teams ask
How is this different from free exchange-rate APIs?
Free APIs are great for converting a price, but they often blend or average several sources, compute cross rates, or date a rate differently from local rules. Mexico is a good example: many APIs date Banxico's FIX on the day it is set, while Mexican finance teams record it on the day it is published in the DOF, so the same date gives a different number. We serve the rate an official body publishes, on the date accounting rules use, with its source on every value, and shaped for F&O.
Which rate do you use for Mexico?
Banxico's FIX, dated on the day it is published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF): the FIX determined on Friday is Monday's rate. This matches how finance teams enter Mexican rates in F&O. Other conventions are available on request.
Do you calculate cross rates, like MXN to ARS?
No. We serve only rates with USD or EUR as the base, exactly as an official source publishes them, so nothing you receive was calculated by us. If you need a pair like MXN/ARS, your ERP can derive it from the two USD rates following your company's own policy.
What if a country's central bank doesn't publish a rate?
The currency's own central bank or tax authority is always our first choice. For currencies without an official USD or EUR rate, we plan to add secondary sources (for example international institutions), clearly marked as secondary in the source of every value, so you can always tell them apart from official rates.
What happens on weekends and holidays?
Banks don't publish then. The /v1/rates endpoint returns each currency's most recent official rate, with rate_date showing the day it was published. History and F&O endpoints list only the days a source actually published, because F&O keeps a rate in effect until the next one starts.
Can I import directly into Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations?
Yes. /v1/fo/exchange-rates returns rows named like the Exchange rates data entity. Use it from Power Automate (Apply to each → Create record) or download it as CSV for a Data management import project. See the F&O guide.
Does it work with Business Central, NetSuite or SAP Business One?
Yes. The standard endpoints return plain JSON over HTTPS that any system or integration tool can read. The F&O endpoint is simply an extra convenience for Dynamics 365.
How fresh are the rates?
Every source is checked every hour, and recent days are re-checked so late publications and corrections are picked up automatically.
How far back does history go?
Most sources from January 2025. Peru (SUNAT) from October 2026, when that source started. Your plan sets how much history you can query.
Is my data safe?
We don't store your financial data: you only read public official rates. API keys are stored as one-way hashes, all traffic is HTTPS (rated A+), and the service runs on a hardened, automatically patched server.
Do I need an API key?
Not to try it. Requests without a key are answered with up to 250 requests per day from each IP address and the last 7 days of history. For more, use a free test key. See Authentication.
Is it free?
Yes. During testing, access is free of charge. If paid plans are introduced later, nothing will be charged without prior notice and your explicit agreement.
Can I use it in production?
Not yet. This is a test service, provided as is, without any guarantee of accuracy, completeness or availability. Use it for evaluation only, and verify every rate against the official source.
I found a security issue. How do I report it?
Please see our security.txt for the private reporting channel. Thank you!
